This winter has been one of the snowiest winters that I can remember. The first thing I think about when I hear the word snow is all the fun activities that go along with the wintry weather: ice skating, building snowmen, snowball fights, skiing, sledding, etc. This winter is a great time to get the family out of the house and enjoy the cold. This month with have a list of places to go ice skating and skiing around the area. So spend an afternoon skating on an outdoor rink or take a weekend getaway to a ski lodge. If you know of a fun place that’s missing from the list please email me the information at Resources@theFAMILYmagazine.com

Got Summer Plans?
I’m always astounded with how many varieties of camps there are out there. I never went to a sleep away camp as a kid and there are times I feel like I missed out on some important rite of passage. But I did go to a great day camp in the area and I enjoyed all the different activities that filled the day. It’s a great way to spend the summer and you get to try something new, further explore your interests and make friends. Are you looking for a great summer camp for your kids but are confused where to start? Check out our Web Extras page for a list of great camp fairs in the area where you can go and explore what different camps have to offer. If you know of a camp fair that’s not listed please email me at Resources@theFAMILYmagazine.com.
